“The straw-coloured Boschendal Brut Rosé smells of tropical fruit with hints of green fit and lime. An elegant wine with a zesty finish.
Ideally, your Boschendal Brut Rosé is enjoyed on its own or can be enjoyed in an alfresco setting paired with seafood, chicken dishes or summer salads.
After the red grapes have been pressed, the juice is immediately bled from the grapes and mixed with 15% Chardonnay to create the unique sunset-salmon colour of the base wine. Before its disgorged the base wine spends 12 months on the lees, bottled under crown-cap where it undergoes a secondary fermentation. The lees contact allows the wine to mature in complexity, adding a striking fruit structure and depth, as well as its alluring sparkle.
After being established in 1865 this estate – set in the Drakenstein Valley – gained new ownership in 2013. They have since brought in a talented team. They not only ensure that the products are at an optimal, but also that it’s sustainable. While winemaking is their priority, they also strive to ensure that the valley stays lush, while supporting the local communities.
